The Florida League of Cities can help municipalities with the collection of delinquent local business taxes from insurance companies.
The League identifies and initiates collection procedures for unpaid taxes through its Delinquent Local Business Tax Collection Program, established in 1951. Participating cities receive 50% of recovered funds and can add companies to their current tax rolls to receive 100% of future collections.
In many cases, the revenue returned to cities exceeds their annual League membership dues.
