Regional Summits

FLC University's Regional Summits take place at locations around the state throughout the year. Our faculty offers an array of knowledge and expertise in the courses offered and the courses have been developed in recognition of the numerous and complex issues that face our member cities.

We hope you will take advantage of these courses designed specifically to address our unique municipal needs so we can offer the very best solutions to Florida’s citizens. Join the many municipal officials and staff who are already taking advantage of these free training options!

FLCU Constitutions and Your Citizens

Constitutions and Your Citizens: How Cities Make the Connection

Have you ever tried to explain a legislative preemption to your neighbor? Or describe the impact of property tax exemptions to residents at your church, synagogue or temple? Or break down a Constitutional amendment for a citizen while standing in a grocery store aisle or at a youth sporting event? If you aren’t prepared, discussing these complex concepts can be difficult. Learn to master these opportunities at our upcoming regional workshop. You will also access materials to better prepare you for leadership roles in your community during the 2018 Florida elections and learn how to recruit more Floridians to join the fight for Home Rule. We must connect with our citizens now to ensure local decisions stay local.

Thursday, September 13, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in Orlando.
*This event is being hosted in conjunction with the September FLC Legislative Policy Committees.
Wednesday, September 26, 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Lake Worth
*This event is being co-hosted by the Palm Beach County League of Cities.
