Public Records and Public Meetings (Watch)

SB 236 (Book) creates a public record exemption for any personal identifying information of alleged victims of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct or any information that could assist an individual in determining the identity of the alleged victim. The bill clarifies that this information cannot be disclosed until the law enforcement agency determines that it will not investigate the allegation, the agency has taken disciplinary action against the subject of the allegation and will take no further action, or a finding is made as to whether probable cause exists. The bill also exempts any portion of a public meeting that would reveal any records involving an allegation of sexual harassment or sexual misconduct until certain conditions are met. (Cook)
