Rumors of official investigations, public accusations by critics and political rivals, and hostile interactions on the dais are among the most challenging of moments in public service. If we haven’t planned for them or don’t anticipate their occurrence, we may respond in ways that make matters worse, not better. Dealing with these difficult situations effectively as municipal officials requires discipline, self-awareness and a deep commitment to the public we serve. Learn how to manage these moments of conflict and provide the public honest assurance that you, and the city, will uphold the public trust.

This unique summit will combine instruction on core communication concepts, activities involving hypothetical challenges, and opportunities for you to discuss issues arising in your own city with seasoned experts and your peers.
