“Ad Valorem Property Tax: Impact of Potential Legislative Changes and Economic Forecasts for Florida Local Governments”

For most local governments, the Ad Valorem tax is one of the major revenue sources to fund basic government services. It's an important re-occurring revenue that these governments use to maintain a structurally balanced budget. Therefore, the topic for this training session focuses on the economic forecast in Florida as it pertains to both the universal impacts and the unique impacts that certain economic trends and legislative initiatives will have on this vital revenue source. The panel of both practitioners and academics will blend the theory with the practice to comprehensively cover this topic in a meaningful manner. City and County Managers, Finance Directors (and key staff), and students of local government should plan to attend and engage with these presenters, and with each other.
