City Employee of the Year Award Criteria

This award is given to a city employee for his or her exemplary efforts on behalf of the city during the past year. Nominations for City Employee of the Year must be made by a majority vote of the nominee’s city council/commission. Any city employee is eligible for this award – regardless of title or full- or part-time status.

In the narrative and supportive materials, show how the employee has displayed excellence in these areas:
  • Work Performance/Productivity

  • Judgment

  • Initiative

  • Integrity

  • Dependability

  • Cooperation

  • Citizen Relations


  • Include any specific projects in which the employee went “above and beyond” his or her duties during the past year.
