Howl-o-Ween for Dogs City of Casselberry The City of Casselberry began its Howl-o-Ween for Dogs event in October 2005. Since then, it has been held each year on the last Sunday in October. Members of the community do not have to leave their dogs out of the Halloween fun anymore! In 2007, the event took place at Casselberry’s Pawmosa Dog Park. More than 100 dogs and their owners spent the day browsing the many pet-related booths and indulging in Halloween tricks and treats. A doggie costume contest and pet parade were also included in the event. Contact: Matt Fortini, Director Parks and Recreation Department City of Casselberry 125 E. Pet Alert Sticker Program City of Oakland Park In addition to protecting the residents of Oakland Park during fires and other emergencies, Oakland Park Fire-Rescue personnel are concerned about the rescue and recovery of pets. Oakland Park Fire-Rescue created the Pet Alert Sticker Program to aid firefighters in identifying the number and species of pets inside houses during an emergency. Firefighters keep the alert stickers in their vehicles for distribution, and stickers can be picked up at any fire station in Oakland Park. It is estimated that approximately 700 stickers have been given out since the program was launched in July 2007. Contact: Donald P.
