Did You Know... Lee

Did you know the Town of Lee's motto was derived from a 1979 newspaper article?

The Times-Union published an article on Lee featuring an interview with then-Mayor Louis DeMotsis, who served the town for 30 years. At the time, Lee's population was 268, and the town was struggling financially. Mayor DeMotsis told the reporter, "We're too little to exist and too proud to go under." Though the Town of Lee is still small, it is now a thriving community of 360 that remains "Little but Proud."
