City of Fernandina Beach Fernandina Beach is located on Amelia Island. It has a marina located within a 90-square-block historic district and is still a working waterfront (harbor).
City of Flagler Beach Flagler Beach is well known for the Municipal Fishing Pier that was first constructed in 1927. It is one of only a few communities buildings on the east side of State Road A1A.

City of Florida City Florida City is the southernmost mainland municipality in the United States.
City of Fort Lauderdale There are 84 miles of navigable waterways in and around Fort Lauderdale.
City of Fort Meade The oldest church in Polk County is located in Fort Meade and is recorded in the National Register of Historic Sites.
City of Fort Myers Fort Myers was the winter home of Thomas Edison. Henry Ford, his friend, lived next door to him. The Edison Home was donated to the city in 1947.
Town of Fort Myers Beach The town includes the entire Island of Estero, which is seven miles long and less than a half mile wide. In addition to seven miles of white Gulf beaches, it is the gatekeeper to the sensitive environmental area of Estero Bay.
City of Fort Pierce The fort was the headquarters of the Army of the South under General Jesup. A settlement about the fort began soon after its establishment.
City of Fort Walton Beach The city was named after the fort established in the area during the Seminole Wars. The fort and the county adjacent to Okaloosa were named for Colonel George Walton, who was secretary of West Florida during the governorship of Andrew Jackson, 1821-22, and secretary of the East-West Florida territory, 1822-26.
Town of Fort White The town was named for a fort, which stood here during the Seminole Wars. Fort White has no record as to the identity of the White who gave his name to the fort. The area has various state parks, namely Ichetucknee and O’Leno.

City of Freeport The city was incorporated on July 10, 1963, because residents wanted to form a fire department. To take such action at the time, incorporation was required by the state.
City of Frostproof Cowboys from the cattle regions just north of Frostproof liked to herd their cattle southward into this highland lake region during the winter months and noted the absence of frost in the coldest seasons. It is said that they gave the meteorological name to the town.

Town of Glen Ridge Glen Ridge holds an annual community picnic.
Town of Glen Saint Mary The name of the town was prompted by its nearness to the St. Mary's River, which forms the northern boundary of Florida. St. Mary's is easier to pronounce than the Indian name for the town which was Thlathlakuphka.
Town of Golden Beach The town offers many activities and classes for the young and old, including a Halloween party, a Winter Carnival complete with real snowballs and an annual Pot-Luck Supper.
Village of Golf The same men who previously established Golf, Illinois, founded the Village of Golf. These men were obviously very interested in the game of golf.
City of Graceville Graceville holds an annual Harvest Festival each November.
City of Green Cove Springs The city derived its name from the mineral springs, which it was claimed had healing powers. During the period of 1880 to 1901, a great tourist influx occurred as visitors were drawn to the waters of the great sulfur springs. The city was the site of a naval sea and air station during World War II.
Town of Greenville During the Civil War, the town was given the name of "Station Five," because it was the fifth station from the capital. A women's sewing circle was organized there to sew for the soldiers in the Confederate Army and the first box of supplies that they sent to the commissary in Richmond was designated as coming from Station Five. The quartermaster wrote the president of the society that packages would have to be given in the name of some town. The ladies met and agreed to call the town Greenville, as a tribute to Mrs. U.M. Roberts, president of the society, who came from Greenville, South Carolina.

City of Gretna When a post office was established in the city, the first postmaster decided "Gritney," the name given to the area by locals, was not a very "prominent sounding" name and therefore changed it to Gretna.
City of Groveland Groveland is the site of an international water-skiing competition on Lake David.
City of Gulf Breeze Gulf Breeze is noted for its rich variety of artifacts that are associated with "careening"(cleaning and repairs) of sailing ships during the 1600s to 1800s. Indian artifacts have also been recovered from the area that are dated several thousand years B.C.
Town of Gulf Stream The town derived its name from its proximity to the Gulf Stream, which flows nearest the Florida mainland in this area.
City of Gulfport Gulfport is home to the Stetson College of Law and has the only four-leaf clover farm in the world.

City of Hawthorne The city was named for James H. Hawthorne, the original owner of the townsite. The name of the post office is spelled without the final "e," but the name of the community retains it.
City of Hialeah Hialeah has access to every major South Florida thoroughfare. It is linked by I-95, I-75, the Palmetto and Sawgrass Expressways, and the Florida Turnpike.
City of Hialeah Gardens Hialeah Gardens is one of the few areas left in North Miami-Dade County with available land for development.
City of High Springs In 1889, the name of the city was changed to High Springs because of a spring located atop a hill within the townsite. The spring has since disappeared.
Town of Highland Beach Highland Beach was the first town east of the Mississippi River to adopt “xeriscape” plantings to conserve water. Xeriscape is a landscaping method that employs drought-resistant plants in an effort to conserve resources.

Village of Highland Park Mr. and Mrs. Irwin A. Yarnell, co-owners with F.E. Fairchild in the Southern Land Company, named this town after Highland Park, Illinois, where they had friends.
Town of Hillcrest Heights The only industry in Hillcrest Heights is the "Hillcrest Lodge," which has been there since the 1920s and was grandfathered in when the new zoning ordinance was passed.
Town of Hilliard The Jacksonville Air Traffic Control Center is located within the Hilliard town limits.

Town of Indialantic Because of its location, Indialantic is one of the most "used" beaches on Florida's East Coast. U.S. Highway 192 bisects the town from east to west and is the most direct route from Disney World and other Orlando attractions.
Village of Indian Creek Indian Creek is a gated community with 34 residences and a private golf course/country club.
City of Indian Harbour Beach On June 6, 1955, the town was established when Mr. W. Lansing Gleason, Mr. John H. Neafie and Mr. Louis S. Henry held a meeting and formed the first City Commission. Mr. Gleason loaned the city money to begin operating, then later forgave the debt. The original police chief was the town's only police officer and used his own personal car for patrols by putting a red light on it. The first fire truck was purchased for only $750 and had to be towed in by a wrecker!
Town of Indian River Shores The oldest settlement in the area, "John's Island," was settled in the late 1800s as a farming community along the Indian River and was accessible only by boat. Indian River Shores is the site of the original "John's Island" and has many fruit groves.
City of Indian Rocks Beach Until it was covered, the Timucua Indians used to come to the area's "healing spring," which had the odor of sulfur. To the Indians, this was considered their vacation area as it is today to many tourists.
Town of Indian Shores The town was first incorporated on September 16, 1949, as Indian Rocks Beach, South Shore. The name was changed to the Town of Indian Shores on August 14, 1973.
Town of Inglis Inglis was originally named "Blind Horse."
Town of Interlachen The first Town Hall building was constructed in 1892 and still stands at the corners of Commonwealth and Atlantic Avenues.
City of Inverness Over the years, phosphate mining, orange groves and cattle were industries, but today it is primarily a retirement community with retail businesses located in a redeveloping downtown with shopping centers on the outskirts.
Village of Islamorada Islamorada is known as the “Village of Islands.”

City of Jacksonville Beach The area was first settled in 1884 as a summer resort to attract tourists to Jacksonville, with residents living in tent houses.
City of Jacob City The city was named after the Jacob Community Development Council, which received a grant to weatherize houses throughout Jackson County. When the grant expired, the founder, Ms. Cora Beechem, did not renew the program but worked toward the formation of Jacob City.
City of Jasper The town was named in memory of the great Revolutionary War hero, Sergeant William Jasper, who rescued the American flag during the British assault on Fort Sullivan (now Fort Moultrie) in 1776.
Town of Jay Jay is primarily a farming community with two cotton gins and a peanut buying and warehouse facility. The town has proven to be rich not only in agriculture, but also in oil, which was discovered there in the early 1970s.
Town of Jennings Jennings was an important shipping point for Sea Island cotton in the days before World War I and the boll weevil.
Town of Juno Beach Juno Beach has the densest turtle-laying beaches per square mile on the East Coast of the U.S.
