Did You Know... Coconut Creek

Did you know the City of Coconut Creek is the "Butterfly Capital of the World"?

Coconut Creek is home to the world's largest butterfly aviary, Butterfly World. Located in Tradewinds Park, the aviary houses more than 80 species and 5,000 individual butterflies, including some rare species that aren't found anywhere else in the world. In honor of the butterflies, the city holds an annual Butterfly Festival, a 5K Butterfly Run, and a Butterfly Parade. In 2002, Coconut Creek adopted the title "Butterfly Capital of the World" in recognition of the city's devotion to environmental preservation and protection.
