Did you know the City of Cocoa owns the rights to an underground river?
Incorporated in 1895, Cocoa was originally known for its fishing and citrus industry. When NASA purchased the surrounding citrus groves for development of the Kennedy Space Center, city leaders secured rights to an underground river. Today, the river provides drinking water for the City of Cocoa as well as more than half of Brevard County, Kennedy Space Center and Patrick Air Force Base.
