Did You Know... Callahan

Did you know the Town of Callahan has officially adopted its historic train depot as the town logo?

The Callahan depot was built in the 1880s or 1890s by the SF&W Railroad and is maintained by the West Nassau Historical Society. The Callahan depot is said to be the "last structure, architecturally intact, remaining on mainland Nassau County that can be used to preserve our heritage." As Callahan's main landmark, the depot now houses the West Nassau Chamber of Commerce, and a section used by the community for social functions.
