I Am a... Newly Elected Municipal Official
|
Congratulations to all newly elected officials and welcome to the League family. You may not realize this, but it is estimated that each year one-third of all elected municipal officials are new. The Florida League of Cities is your association. If you need information in your new role, we hope that you will include us on your list of important resources.

Training
and
Conferences |
|
| |
One of the most important programs the League offers to newly elected officials
is training. The Institute
for Elected Municipal Officials (IEMO) was developed for you. This program
offers a comprehensive overview of Florida municipal government, presented
by a faculty of top professionals in the field. The basic program is held
three times every year throughout the state in conjunction with the John
Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government.
Also, the League’s annual conference is held in August in various
locations throughout the state. Conference information is mailed to member
governments in May of each year. Mark your calendar for August 14 - 16,
2008, for the League’s 82nd Annual Conference at the Marriott Tampa Waterside Hotel/Tampa Convention Center.

an issue of the League’s magazine, Quality Cities,

gives “A
Quick Civic Review,” and helps answer the question, “What
Do I Really Need to Know as an Elected Official?”
