 |
President Carmine Priore
Vice Mayor, Wellington
This site is
designed to provide Florida’s municipal officials and other
visitors with the latest information on League services, programs,
publications and events. You can also access select state and federal
agencies, as well as Florida cities from this site. |
City officials who
wished to unite the municipal governments in Florida for the purpose of
shaping legislation, sharing the advantages of cooperative action, and
exchanging ideas and experiences established the League in 1922. From
a modest beginning of just a few cities and towns, the Florida League
of Cities has grown throughout the years to include nearly all of Florida’s
412 municipalities as members.
A 54-member Board of Directors, comprised of elected municipal officials,
governs the League, which is headquartered in Tallahassee. The Public
Risk Services and Technology Services Departments are located in Orlando.
The League is proud to have provided more than 85 years of service to Florida’s
municipal officials, and will continue to support Local Self-Government:
The Keystone of American Democracy!
